Beijing - Day 3 - A Whirlwind!

It is 9:30 pm locally. We JUST got back to the hotel after 12 hours of touring. Today the smog finally lifted and it was a little bit cooler because of a nice breeze. We visited the Jade Factory and the Great Wall before lunch, and then had lunch at a Cloisonne Factory, followed by an acrobatic show and a visit to the 2008 Olympic Village...WHEW!!!

Best of all, we have a 4 am wake-up call tomorrow morning! We must be up with bags packed and outside our hotel door by 5 am, and ready to load the bus to the airport at 5:30 am. We then catch an 8:30 flight to Xi'an, where we will check into a our new hotel and then sometime after that - it's LIA TIME!

Needless to say I don't have time to get into details or post many of the 320 photos Steve took today - but here are a couple from the Great Wall to tide you all over...

Next post from Xi'an...WITH LIA!!!!   :)

It's funny, since you've been gone, I have not been able to sleep at all. I have been waking up at 6am on the nose every morning...and I check your blog knowing you will be posting before you go to bed. Anyways...these photo's are amazing..it's hard to believe you are a world away...even HARDER to believe that you will have your sweet baby girl in the next 24 hours. Our family will be forever changed and blessed from this day forward! I love you and Steve! Stay safe and enjoy EVERY moment of this next day!

I am LOVING your posts and waiting anxiously to see you with Lia!

It may feel like you are taking a lot of photos, but take LOTS and LOTS of photos. An excessive amount. You will never think they are enough. Snap at EVERYTHING.

Sending you so much love from Colorado! Woo hoo!
XXXOOO, Holly

Julie I am so excited for you guys. Its kind of funny, Just reading a little bit about your trip so far brings back memories from my trip to China when i was 13. We went to a Jade factory too...and sometime I will have to tell you the story of my sister getting ill in traffic on our way to the Great Wall! LOL. Then one of our plains landing about 100 yards short of the run way, that was interesting! I'm sitting here in St. Louis dreaming of you meeting Lia for the first time! So touching! :) Be safe and healthy!
