It is always so painful to see the photos of these babies with such severe cleft palates. I make myself look. It helps me remember how blessed I am. On the other hand, what a miracle to see the change these children receive at the hands of the doctors and the love they receive from Starfish and folks like you. Lia is gorgeous!
Hi Julie! I saw Lia's picture (she was named Sophie then) several months ago on the starfish site. Something about her picture drew me to her and I immediately started praying for her. Today, I received the update from starfish and was so excited to see her thriving with her new family! So happy she found her forver family with you :)
We are Julie and Steve. We live in the Pacific Northwest, and this blog is about our Life with Lia. Our daughter Lia joined our family from The Starfish Foster Home in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China in August 2010.

happiest of birthdays to your cutie pie!
Yes we do! Happy birthday, Lia.
It breaks my heart to see her baby picture, to imagine what she and her birthmother went through those first few days of her life.
Happy birthday Lia!
