My 2 Cents...

Over the past couple of weeks there have been a lot of rumors flying around about extended wait times for China adoptions over the next couple of years…and lots of folks are upset. I get that, it is frustrating, but it also makes me sad that people are so caught up on the speed factor rather than the prize at the end of the race. This is a marathon people, not a sprint!

Lia will be worth the wait no matter how long it takes. My heart is with this program and I just know that Lia will be in China and waiting for me when the time is right - whether that's a year or three years from now. So I am just trying to find peace in that and "go with the flow" as far as the wait times are concerned. CCAI has been clear from the beginning that there is no way to know for sure how long the wait will be - we cannot control the Chinese government or the speed of their referrals. We CAN however, trust that they are a reliable program that matches people fairly in order of when they apply, and that when they have a baby for you, they WILL let you know. So I guess all we can do is wait and prepare, and focus on the future!

My family and friends have been SO supportive to me (I am lucky I guess, I’ve recently heard stories of people's families are not near as excited to accept a Chinese child into their family - so SAD!) So for now I focus on my future WITH Lia, not on the two years ahead without her...that's what I'm trying to do anyway...plus I like to think about how fast the last two years have flown by...she will be here before we know it!

Julie - what a wonderful post and a great mind set you have about Lia. When we were first LID the wait was 6 months, and we know what happened from there. Looking back, I cannot imagine having a referral any sooner. Shayna is more than perfect for us and I cannot imagine her not in our lives. Lia will be there for you. And you are right, time will fly by!

Great post! Sometimes the wait is rough, but you are right the prize is at the end.

Excellent post!! I have the same attitude. I will wait as long as it takes, because my baby girl is worth that. It may be easier, in a way, because I have my Spicy Girl to keep me busy. But I still long to have Mei Mei.

On another note, we used CCAI for Spicy Girl and are using them again. I loved them the first time, and love them even more the second time. Awesome agency!!

Good for you staying so positive!!! That alone will make time fly and you know we are all behind you the entire way!
Can't wait to meet Lia and again, what a great attitude you have at this time. God has opened so many doors already in this journey and will continue doing so for you because you're TRUSTING in the plan!
(Did Tracy mention to you...I MIGHT be in Denver 5/5-5/7 for business? It's a serious MAYBE right now but I'll keep ya posted.) CONGRATS again to you - I'm on the search for more lady bug stuff. : )
